With national flags of China and Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) fluttering gaily in the wind, the merry dance with rich African features conveys joy of people. On 18 April 2014, the commissioning ceremony of the 20000 tons of copper cathode hydrometallurgical project (referred to as Mabende project) of China NonferrousMabende Metal Leach Co., Ltd (CNMM), the funding enterprise of Chambishi Copper Smelter Limited (CCS) in the DRC was successfully held. The scale and development speed of the project has created a new record of the company’s overseas development, highlighting the positive contribution of China Nonferrous Metal Mining (Group) Co., Ltd. (CNMC) to consolidate and deepen the traditional friendship between China and DRC, which is also another achievement of the friendly bilateral economic and trade exchanges between the two countries. 

Zambia local time, on April 21, Tao Luo, Chairman of the Board, Xinghu Tao, President, attended the “50th anniversary of the establishment of China- Zambia diplomatic relations and 90th birthday party of Zambian former President Kaunda” at the Chinese embassy in Lusaka. Zambia former President Kenneth Kaunda and his family, Yuxiao Zhou, Chinese ambassador in Zambia,Zulu, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Zambia and nearly a hundred governmental and business representatives of China and Zambia attended the event. 

On April 17 and 18 2014, Chairman of the Board, Tao Luo accompanied by president Xinghu Tao visited China NonferrousHuaxinMetals Leach Limited (CNHMLL), the sponsoring enterprise of Sino-Metals Leach Zambia Limited (SMLZ) in Likasi, Katanga Province of Congo (DRC). 

From March 8 to 13, 2014, CNMC vice president Li Xiaoying paid an investigative visit to a number of CNMC enterprises in Zambia, including NFC Africa Plc (NFCA), CNMC Luanshya Copper Mines Plc (CNMC Luanshya), Chambishi Copper Smelter Limited (CCS), and Sino-Metals Leach Zambia Limited (SMLZ).
