On June 27, 2015 (Zambia time), Zhang Keli, the General Manager and Party Committee Secretary of China Nonferrous Metal Mining (Group) Co., Ltd. (“CNMC”)-the holding group of the Company (“CNMCL”), and Tao Xinghu, the Deputy General Manager of CNMC and President of CNMCL, came to CNMC Luanshya Copper Mines PLC (“CNMC Luanshya”) - a Company under CNMCL built in Zambia for investigation. During the investigation period, Zhang Keli visited Baluba mine and Mulyashi Hydrometallurgy Plant and open-pit mine, and listened to a work report by Luo Xingeng, the Vice President of CNMCL and General Manager of CNMC Luanshya.
Luo Xingeng reported on operation status of CNMC Luanshya, difficulties faced and solutions from such aspects as daily production and operation, responding to political, economic and social environment changes of Zambia, and actively and creatively doing various jobs, and reported on such conditions as tax planning under new tax system and low copper price, utilization of Mulyashi low-grade resources and continuation of Baluba mine resources.
Zhang Keli pointed out that it has been 6 years since CNMCL acquired Luanshya mine, and leaders of CNMC Luanshya have made great contributions to mine construction and CNMCL’s “going global”, done a good job of Baluba mine production restoration, Mulyashi Hydrometallurgy Plant and slag recovery project construction, and formed a certain production and operation scale which have not been easy. He hoped that CNMC Luanshya can further strengthen policy analysis and market research & judgment, optimize strategy development, change thoughts about work, promote technical progress, form cost advantages with comprehensive competitiveness, provide “Three Stricts and Three Honests” education well, and realize better and faster development.
Responsible people of relevant departments of CNMC headquarters also participated in investigation.
