Li Yanbin, Director of SASAC Enterprise Distribution Bureau, Visited Enterprises Invested by CNMCL in Zambia

From July 21 to 23, 2014, a delegation led by Li Yanbin, Director of the SASAC Enterprise Distribution Bureau, visited the enterprises invested by CNMCL in Zambia for research on the investment and development of CNMCL in Zambia under the accompaniment of Zhang Keli, Secretary of CPC CNMC Committee and Tao Xinghu, CEO of CNMCL.

The delegation led by Director Li Yanbin visited the affiliated NFC Africa Mining PLC, Chambishi Copper Smelter Ltd, CNMC Luanshya Copper Mines PLC, Chambishi Sino-Metals Leach Zambia Ltd. and China-Zambia Friendship Hospital. They visited the production sites and the construction sites of new projects, investigated the implementation and practices of compensation management, executive performance assessment, labor and employment, payroll management, employee benefits, and position-related consumption in each company, and listened to the report on production and management, scientific and technological progress, safety and environmental protection, and social responsibility. Director Li Yanbin spoke highly of the achievements of CNMC and CNMCL in the strategy of “going out” and praised it as a leader of the central enterprises in this respect as it not only has made great progress in production and management, but also attaches great importance to localization, actively fulfills its CSR, and keeps in harmony with the local communities of the project investment and construction, realizing sound operation abroad as a Chinese company. The investment and development of CNMC and CNMCL in Zambia has made positive contributions to the local economic development and social stability of the host country as well as the traditional friendship between China and Zambia. It is the best interpretation of “all-weather friendship” between China and Zambia.

Yan Yandong, Director of SASAC No. 1 Enterprise and Cadre Bureau, participated in this visit, and Liu Guoping, deputy chief engineer of CNMC, as well as the comrades from the relevant departments, accompanied them in the visit.
