Danhua Huang Deputy Director of SASAC of the State Council Visiting the Company Subsidiaries in Zambia

From 21 April 2014 to 24 April 2014, Danhua Huang Deputy Director of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of the State Council visited the four subsidiary enterprises of China Nonferrous Mining Corporation Limited (the Company) in Zambia, accompanied by Chairman of the Company Board Mr. Tao Luo and President Mr. Xinghu Tao. 

Deputy Director Danhua Huang and the accompanying personnel visited China Nonferrous Luanshya Copper Mines Plc. (Luanshya), NFC Africa (NFCA), Sino-Metals Leach Zambia Limited (SMLZ), Chambishi Copper Smelter Limited (CCS) and Sino-Zambian Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone Development Limited (ETCZ). During the visit, she listened to the report of each company given by the people in charge, to form a detailed understanding of the achievements having been achieved and problems having encountered in the past production and operation, as well as new development ideas for future. During her visit in Luanshya, Deputy Director Danhua Huang pointed out that the acquisition and management of Luanshya by the Company was a classic case of national enterprises expanding overseas business, which not only increased resource reserves, but also brought the city Luanshya vigor and vitality and had achieved harmony with the local community, the experience of which was worth learning for all national enterprises. During her visit in NFCA, she expressed her hope for all the staff to cooperate and work together, to accelerate the southeast ore projects, improve mining quality and improve production efficiency. She asked the management to be open to new business ideas to develop business strategies with high feasibility for economic efficiency maximization. In Chambishi hydrometallurgical plant, Deputy Director Danhua Huang visited the storage yard of copper cathode product. She pointed out that the low-cost and sustainable development path SMLZ was taking was of strong vitality for recycling economy; she asked all the staff to make continued efforts to create new achievements in the future. During her visit in CCS, Deputy Director Danhua Huang pointed out that the pyrometallurgy project has improved the trinity industry chain of "mining, beneficiation, smelting" created by the Company in Chambishi, thusly effectively giving full play to cluster collaboration effect of enterprises, reducing production costs and improving the overall competitiveness of the enterprise, which had enhanced the enterprise’s ability against risks when the international non-ferrous metals market was of serious volatility, worth domestic companies learning from. Deputy Director Danhua Huang also visited some factories and office buildings and other facilities of the ETCZ. She said that as the sign of a new era of Sino-African cooperation, the ETCZ project had created a new model for the economic cooperation between Chinese enterprises and African countries. She also called for ETCZ to further speed up the construction work and investment, to create a model of oversea cooperation zone. 

Finally, Deputy Director Danhua Huang asked the Company to continue giving full play to its own advantages, to further implement the "going out" strategy, and actively conduct international operations in Zambia, taking advantage of the two markets and two resources. She highly appreciated the remarkable achievements the Company had achieved in recent years through implementing the "going out" strategy. In addition, she also expressed her sympathy to all the staff working at overseas production and construction posts and her appreciation to them for their great contribution to the country's economic development. She requested all the staff in Zambia to establish themselves here, and actively practice "Sino-Zambian cooperation for common development" to create new glories.
