On April 17 and 18 2014, Chairman of the Board, Tao Luo accompanied by president Xinghu Tao visited China NonferrousHuaxinMetals Leach Limited (CNHMLL), the sponsoring enterprise of Sino-Metals Leach Zambia Limited (SMLZ) in Likasi, Katanga Province of Congo (DRC).
Tao Luo and all the accompanying personnel visited the production site of CNHMLL. After listening to the report given by Wenyan Xu, the general manager of CNHMLL, on the production and operation of the enterprise, he gave high praise to all the achievements CNHMLL had achieved in work. He pointed out that the enterprise had accumulated valuable experience in the investment and development of the China Nonferrous Metal Mining (Group) Co., Ltd. (CNMC) in DRC, laid foundation for the successful construction and operation of China Nonferrous HuaxinMabende project. He asked the CNHMLL to keep in strict accordance with the “two increase and one decrease” requirements of CNMC, increasing the maintenance and repair of power equipment, decreasing the impact ofpower supply on production, and pay close attention to scientific and technological progress, increasing production efficiency tosolve the bottleneck restricting the development of enterprise. President Xinghu Tao required long-term plan of the enterprise, and continued to establish and improve various rules and regulations and management systems to achieve continuous improvement in theenterprise management.
In the site of China NonferrousHuaxinMabende project, Tao Luo and the accompanying personnel visited the power supply, grinding, agitation leaching, extraction electrolysis system, tailings, and other production sites of the open-pit stope, as wellas the office, canteen, staff quarters and other living facilities. After listening to the report of KaishouXie, general manager of SMLZ and Yaolin Li, general manager of CNHMLL, on the construction situation of Maerben project, Tao Luo gave full affirmation and high appraisal to the achievements of the project with four short terms, i.e. “good project decision-making, good cooperation between shareholders, good construction quality, and good investment control”. He pointed out that Maerbenproject is an important milestone in the successful implementation of the central and southern Africa strategy of CNMC. Hehoped the staff could continue carrying forward the spirit of hard work and strive to reach capacity objectives as soon as possible to benefit both shareholders and employees. He stressed that in an effort to build the project into a brand project in south-central Africa and DRC，all the staff should continue to unswervingly follow the spirit of “China-Africa relations is nowhere but in progress” put forward by Chairman Jinping Xi, to carry out the projects in DRC with full speed, so as to make new but greater contributions to the further development of China-Africa friendship.
President Xinghu Tao requested to expedite the plant landscaping and other ancillary work of the project, focus on the supply of raw materials to ensure that both the quantity and quality of raw materials is able to meet production needs, laying foundation to the achievement of annual production target.
During the visit, Chairman Tao Luo and the accompanying personnel also visited the Lubumbashi office of SMLZ to see its new office building facilities and working environment, and extended warm greetings to all the staff there.
